Boulder League Fall 2019 is HERE!
Boulder League is a 5 week semi-competitive and social climbing league. Every week your team will be matched up head to head with another team. Scoring is a combination of individual scores, head to head team scores, and team bonuses for fun challenges. At the end of the season, the winning team will be presented with the official Boulder League Trophy along with a smattering of awards and prizes.
PSA: We need at least 8 full teams in order to run Fall Boulder League. If we do not have 8 full teams, we will not be able to run the program this fall.
Schedule: Sundays 7pm-9:30pm
Dates: 5 weeks, September 1 – September 29
Cost: $25 per person or $125 per team (includes Boulder League stickers and end of season party!)
Sign ups: There are 10 teams of 5 members each. You can sign up as a team of 5 or put your name down on the Free Agent/Sub list.
Format and Scoring
The gym is split into 4 climbing zones and one rest zone. Each week teams will be paired up with a head-to-head opponent. The two teams will move through the different zones together, having 20 minutes in each zone. Climbers will have unlimited attempts to climb in each zone, but only their hardest route will count toward their team’s point total. At the end of the night, the team with the higher score gets bonus points for their head-to-head victory. There will be individual and team challenges each week as well that can elevate your team from the mere dregs of minimal points up to the highest echelon of point filled goodness.
You must be 18 years or older to participate in Boulder League. Subs are allowed and must be arranged by team members. Individuals are responsible for determining their climbing handicap. If we find that you are sandbagging your handicap (ex. saying you are a yellow tag climber when you are really a green tag climber) we will bump you up and your scores will be adjusted accordingly.
