NOBL 101

If you haven’t climbed at NOBL, please make sure to fill out our Acknowledgement of Risk form.

Everyone must complete this step in order to climb or hangout in our gym.
Pro tip: watch the Orientation Video to nail the quiz! We promise you don’t want to miss it.

How much does it cost to climb?

We have a variety of access and pricing options. You can learn more about the pricing at NOBL in the Pricing section above.

What if I've never climbed before?

Not a problem! We have climbing for all experience and skill levels. Our staff and other climbers at the gym can help you find your way and give you some climbing pointers. If you're wanting more instruction though, check out our Bouldering 101 class or consider signing up for private coaching.

Is it true there are no ropes and harnesses?

Yes, that is in fact the case. Our gym is all bouldering, which means climbing at shorter heights without the use of ropes. This style of climbing allows for more freedom of movement and doesn't require the need for specialty equipment. There is a 14 inch mat under all of our climbing walls that is designed specifically for bouldering.

What should I bring when I come climbing?

You don't need too much. Make sure to wear clothes that you feel comfortable moving around in, like you would for any kind of workout. You can also bring a water bottle to fill up from the water station (we also have water for sale if you need). Climbing shoes are needed for climbing at our gym, and rental shoes are available.

Do you sell climbing gear at NOBL?

Yes, we have climbing shoes, chalk, chalk bags and buckets, guide books for some local(ish) outdoor climbing spots, and some trainig and recovery accessories available for sale. We've also got some great NOBL branded gear that you can pick up at the gym.

Is there a minimum age for climbing?

No, but sort of. All climbers need to be able to climb on their own, so it really depends on the child. The youngest climbers at our gym are typically 4 years old, but it could be 5 or 6 or even 3 for some! A good option for young children is our Jr. Turtles climbing team, which meets every sunday from 9-10am, and will provide young ones with a bit more guidance in their climbing.

What should I know if I am bringing children to NOBL?

All Acknowledgement of Risk forms must be filled out by a parent or legal guardian in the case of a minor. Our Acknowledgement of Risk form is online for parents to access offsite.

All youth under 15 must be accompanied by an adult chaperone while climbing at NOBL, and 1 adult can chaperone no more than 3 kids at a time. If your kiddos are a young age, 3 may have you feeling outnumbered.

The chaperone is responsible of ensuring kids are practicing safe climbing while at NOBL. Our orientation video (shown upon filling out your waiver) will explain these rules, and we recommend that children watch this video with you! If you have any questions, you can ask the Front Desk Teammate when you arrive at the gym.

Children under the age of 15 are not allowed to use any fitness equipment (located in the workout area) while at NOBL.

Does NOBL do birthday parties or private events?

We do! Click here for more information on group bookings and private events.
